Ten years ago Lockwood Folly residents who were determined to preserve the beauty, integrity, and value of the Lockwood Folly Golf Course, purchased it from the original developer and established the Lockwood Folly Country Club, Inc. (LFCCI). Ever since, redeemable equity memberships have been offered to individuals or families who choose to share the pride of ownership in this 4-Star Golf and Country Club.

Lockwood Folly Golf Course has been designated by Golf Digest a "4-Star-Places to Play" golf course. In 2002 it was also selected the "Best Residential Golf Course Community" by the Myrtle Beach Sun News' Golfer Voter Pole. The semi-private club is also available for non-member play, and is located in Brunswick County just north of Myrtle Beach, SC and just south of Wilmington, NC. The course consists of tree-lined, non-parallel links fairways which afford a sense of seclusion and serenity.
