Brentwood Real Estate
Today my husband Ted, turned 55.
He looks younger and acts MUCH younger(snicker).
It is tradition in my home that on your birthday I will cook you whatever your favorite meal is. I am a phenomenal cook(really really) and I love to show my love for people by feeding them.
My Hubby asks for the same thing every year- Beef Stroganoff with steamed asparagus and rolls with shrimp cocktail as the appetizer. So this morning I was up early and managed to have my things done enough and started cooking. I love to cook, it relaxes me and makes me feel happy! I made everything from scratch except the rolls(I am not all that hot with breads).
Our oldest son Josh(21) came with his girlfriend and our youngest Chris (17) even came out of his room long enough to eat and participate(lol). Our mini- Dachshund Rosie, who is a Daddies girl for sure, gave kisses and wagged her tale almost off!
We had a wonderful late lunch and a great cake, a local place makes amazing frozen custard cakes,
oh my...12 zillion calories a slice, but heaven for sure!
I was standing in the the Hallmark store reading cards and I found the perfect one, then I was thinking about something someone said to me once about love. That love means whatever is the best for everyone involved . Irealized that to me, my husband means love. He is the best for me and I for him, even after all this time. He has encouraged me through so many changes and fears and joys. He is the rock I have always launched from. To para phrase something I once read...
" He is simply my best time, my sweetest laughter and most precious dream. And still he finds new ways to love me. Always we will be beside and behind one another. Always."
So today I sing "Happy Birthday" while I think "Amazing Grace"
