This is the first book that I have read in a long time that impacted me so emotionally. I actually cried throughout the book. I think the author is very talented at pulling emotion from her readers even while some of the story feels predictable. The story is about a marriage on the rocks that has to confront a deployment. The struggles that are documented should give us all a healthy respect for the military and the sacrifices they and their families make each day. This is the first Kristin Hannah book that I have read but it won't be the last.
