In sales, I have found that it can be an amazing career, but it is anything but easy. In any type of sales there is going to be those that are successful and those who are not!

Which one are you? Why?

kick in pants

It is also true that the higher the risk, the higher the potential reward, and this is true in the Real Estate Industry too.

No matter what side of the coin you are on, this business is no joke, and in todays market it takes a persistence and dedication to details to truly succeed.

In regards to follow-up, I once read:

I follow-up till they buy or die!

This is true, however, in the real estate industry we are in relationship based sales. (AKA. making friends)

My philosophy is that, I follow-up til people figure, heck he is always there, I might as well give him a shot! I find out what the clients expectations are, and I work like heck to exceed them.

I know that if you personally were to follow-up with a servant mentality, trying to genuinely help people on a daily basis there is no reason you can't drive more business.

Real Estate related sales is predominantly a relationship based sale, and is all about the picture we paint of ourselves, and our knowledge.

Ask yourself the question:

  • Why do people want to do business with me?
  • What am I known for?
  • Are you true to yourself and goals?
In a prevous post, I made mention to a friend that did not want to call his friend to represent him because he said he would be nervous to call them out if there were any challenges.

How do you diffuse that question for your friends or family?

These are the true questions we must answer to improve daily, and dominate your market place.

Those who can honestly answer the questions above well, are most likely the ones who are most successful in business.

My intent in writing this today is truly to oppose all those (are outside of sales) who think sales is easy, and that business just flows in, and to challenge those sales people who think successful people are just lucky.

My Thought is that SUCCESS IS A CHOICE, and to truly succeed you must be COMMITTED.

I Challenge you today to, CHOOSE TO SUCCEED.

I also follow up until they buy or do and never with pressure; I think with a servant attitude.

Yes, Success is a Choice. Constant followup is critical, if not, they think you don't care about them.
