This can't be just coincidental. Yesterday, we took a road trip to Columbia, South Carolina from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to see a woman I admire greatly - Oprah Winfrey.  I am a registered Independent, so I was open minded to the speech given by her political presidential preference, Barack Obama. 

The 'God's of Luck' were shining down on me that day.  I sat in in the stands among the crowd of 30,000+ rally goers hoping to get a glimpse of her.  Fortunately I was next to a campaign worker who offered me a front row center infield position to listen to Oprah.  I was directly in front of her only 10 feet away.  At times she appeared to be looking right at me while giving her speech.  Oprah actually shook my hand when she left the stage. It was an awesome moment for me.

Now to the really good part.  While travelling to Columbia, I got a call from another agent with an offer on a 3 bedroom condo that I had listed for many months. Through a series of phone calls, we agreed on the details of the contract and the deal was set.  The condo was sold and is scheduled to close in January. I have not had a viable offer on any of my 32 listings since August!!!

Back to the coincidence. It is amazing how many deals I make while on road trips or vacations. I looked over my 75 plus closings in the past 3 years and was surprised at how many were started and/or ended on one of my 'road trips'/vacations.  I have learned to take my 'office' with me, even investing in a portable fax/copier machine and laptop computer.   I am planning a weekly road trip to test my 'road trip' theory. Hopefully, the trips will increase activity on my listings and bring me more offers.  If this works, I will let you know...

Hi Linda,  That's right.  IF I want my listings to sell, all I have to do is go visit my daughters and I'm on the phone negotiating.
