Choose a Real Estate Domain That Drives Traffic

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX

Giving a good domain name for a real estate business takes time and a lot of thinking. One good advantage of the new generation is the internet where you can take all the help you need. Here are a few points to consider in selecting a domain name.

A great name will not always be great for real estate. Owning the URL for your name wouldn’t be the main method how people would discover your site, although you should. You must register your name in the annual domain name registration, which costs less than $10, and mention it in your blog or direct it to your site. It’s implausible that someone will remember the name of the agent they haven’t met yet, unless it’s an existing client. More probably, possible clients will be looking for properties in a particular area like Mendocino Homes, Mendocino Properties or Mendocino Real Estate.

The shorter URL’s, the better. The example “Joeisthebestrealestateagent.com” may be a good idea for Joe, but it’s so much to remember and type for the part of the customers. It’s alright if you can’t say precisely what you want through your URL because it’s short, except for an instance wherein the city’s name is long. Shorter names are easier to recall and to spell. Recollecting the websites in your mind will make you realize that it’s less than the complexity it should really be.

The URL’s spelling is always considered. Phoning a friend and referring them to your website without them having to ask for the spelling would let you know how easy it is for people to direct to your site in a simple conversation. Always be mindful of the double letters. If using double letters in your domain is inevitable, buy its common misspellings.
