Have you picked out your tree yet....

For the third year we chose Kenny's in Fairhaven as the place to go to get our Christmas tree, they have a huge selection and at very reasonable prices.

Each year seems to be better than the last. Santa was on hand to direct the traffic and boy was it busy on this cold Sunday afternoon. Most often I can spot our tree right away but this year "little one" found the perfect tree and as we were loading it up it the car we saw a few snowflakes to top it off!

After selecting our tree we went inside to see the beautiful winter wonderland on display, boy was "little one" excited! Not only do they decorate the place to get you into that Christmas spirit, but they offer up all the goodies too. Fresh hot cider, hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn to make selecting the tree a family event to remember.

Happy Holidays!

We don't have a tree and at this point probably will not get one. No children at home... so we enjoy everyone else's decorations. But I used to love going a picking that perfect tree.

Happy Holidays

Hi Monika,

I was ready to do this before Thanksgiving! We actually picked out our tree the Sunday before and just decorated yesterday. The "little one" makes it so much fun, she told us "this place rules" LOL!

Happy Holidays! :)

Once trees crept up close to the $100 mark and the quality of artificial trees improved we decided to "fake" the Christmas Tree... Although we could keep it up all year it only sits there a few weeks.

Hey Suzanne! - Snow?? That's the white stuff that falls from the sky when everyone is freezing right? When temperatures get below florida's typical lows in the low 50s? :)

Anyway, we have our tree - it's a ten foot beauty and it sits in my entrance way. It was in fact delivered by the High School Quarterback! (true) because I was not able to carry it (recovering from back surgery - you can check out the whole sorry tale of my back in my blog).

Anyway - it's beautiful! Thanks for this festive post.

HI Suzanne - I love real trees..However I always got depressed when we tossed it out after the holidays. Seem like such a waste. Plus found out I'm allergic to trees, and I would always end up sick around the holidays. Hasn't happened since we got an artificial.

Suzanne - 83 degrees here today in The City Beautiful (That's Orlando's other name for the uninformed). Luckily for you, it's in the Constitution that you have to retire in Florida so you just have a few more years of cold winters to deal with! lol

My hubby is allergic too! But he loves them anyway, its usually only bad the first couple of days. I agree, it is sad when we throw them away :(

THIS sounds like a wonderful outing.  I've lived in Brandon, FL since I was 5 years old...I've never chopped down my own tree to take home on top of the car.  WOW!!  What a truly wonderful tradition!  Loved your story Suzanne...

Christmas!Hi Suzanne - I thought I'd let you see Christmas at my house. We may not have any snow (it was 83 again today), but we know how to decorate a tree.

Well done to my wife and kids (I helped, but the whole back surgery thing prevented too much effort on my part!)

Jay,

You could still have a tree....maybe a small one?

Hi Julie,

I love getting the tree, the smell when you walk in the house. I'm like a little kid tun it on in the morning and right when I get home! Thanks my friend :)

Susie,

We didn't have to chop it down they had plenty, it was sooo cold! ;)

Martin,

aww...thanks! Now don't get carried away that was supposed to be a secret! ;)

Craig,

Was perfect, thanks :)

Hi Joann,

They sure are, I like startting new ones too! :)

Sweet Simon,

Sorry I didn't get a chance to check out your post, your tree is beautiful. Now I want to show you a picture of mine, but my camera is in the car and it is cold out there. Perhaps, in the morning! ;)

HI Suzanne, One of my favorite rituals was picking out the tree....just me and my Dad.. I was sooo particular..probably drove him crazy, but he never showed it! I miss him.
