The Best on the Vine, Week of December 2

Tomato vineThere is a lot of activity in the real estate and mortgage markets right now, especially considering December is usually the slowest month for sales each year. Dothan real estate is no exception, and I am sure you have noticed the scarcity of posts this week.

Thankfully, there is some excellent conversation going on in the real estate blog world, and I am always glad to be able to share some of the posts that I think you will find useful and interesting.

So, without further delay, here is the best on the vine this week.

At the top of the national news this week is the Foreclosure Relief plan announced by President Bush. There is lots of coverage throughout the blogosphere, and several Tomatoes have chimed in. Denny Oh at SanDiegoh, Jeanie at Twin City Real Estate Chat, and Mary at Beltway Ramblings all give unique insight to what this announcement means.

REALTOR Magazine just sent out its annual cost vs. value issue. You can see this information at www.costvsvalue.com. Karl at Pensacola Real Estate News and Jamie at Davis Real Estate blog give an overview of the report and how it relates to their market. More on this coming to Dothan Home Search real soon.

For home sellers, it is always a difficult decision on whether to continue to try to sell during the holidays, especially now that almost all markets have an oversupply of homes for sale. Matthew at RealEstateDNA makes an excellent case for why it is a good time to sell your home, and Sarah from TylerTalkalot asks the questions you need to ask yourself when making the decision.

Finally, in the spirit of the Christmas season, Cyndee from Sandbars to Sunsets tells us about how some local folks are helping make the holidays a little merrier for Clearwater military families. And Paula from Indy Real Estate talk has a wish list for Santa from moms everywhere. Good stuff.

Another week of great writing Tomatoes!
