Good sharing here Kathy...I just recently realized on-how dependent I have become on spell check too
English is my second language, you have no idea how often I could use that!! - Thanks for sharing!
Hi Kathy. Another great website is dictionary.com. It also allows the visitor the ability to hear how each word is pronounced (click on the horn next to the word you are looking up), in addition to the definition, word origin, synonyms, thesaurus, etc. I have the site bookmarked in my favorites.
Richie, I think we have all become dependent on spell check.
Tanja, always happy to share!
Linda, I have used dictionary.com before too.
Betty, I couldn't agree with you more. I love all the things I have learned here on AR.
Great information. I will check on the Howjsay.com website. Active Rain is such a good source of information, serious topics and entertaining and fun things. So many interesting and well informed people make this a real influence in my life.
Betty
Good information to have. But I bet it doesn't have the unique local versions of some words!
Than, are you worried it won't have that Oklahoma accent for you!
Kathy, It's getting to the point that just about anything you want has an app for that! :)
BLiz, you are absolutely right about that!
Kathy, thanks for sharing that resource on www.howjsay.com at How would you say that? We have a lot of English learners in Cupertino, Saratoga and San Jose who could appreciate this tool.
Michelle, I am always happy to share great tools. Share away!
