With the new Timeline for Pages comes change.  I want to specifically talk about the Apps.

Remember how you used to have all those custom Apps down the left side column of your Page?  They are gone with the new Timeline – well not gone but less visible.  Instead, Facebook has allowed us Page Owners to highlight 3 Apps under the Cover Photo.

You can’t move the Photos App, but you can move the other three.  As an Admin just hover over each image to see the pencil edit.  Click on that and choose which App you want in that box.  

But don’t stop there!  Make sure you take full advantage of this by creating images for each of those Apps (they are 111 x 74 px) and changing the title of each (if need be).

Additionally, the new Apps get a whole lot more real estate to work with.  What once was limited to a narrow 520px wide, we can now build custom apps that use almost 800px in width!  That means you can get a bunch more content and info above the fold!   Want more info?  I build Custom Facebook Apps for Pages

NOTE: I just started building a whole new batch of new style 800px width apps and couldn’t be more excited!  If you have an ‘older’ style 520 and would like that recreated to the new 800, we can do that too.

Boy I needed you about two hours ago when I figured out that I could change the pictures that are on my tabs.  Problem was I would browse to a pic I wanted, but it would insert something random. Not even from my files of pics!
