Have you checked your Localism "feature"page lately? I hadn't until my , "alerted" me today to that page for whatever reason. I don't really know why I was "alerted" (I'm still figuring all of this out).
But as I checked my Localism page I noticed what I have here below "Articles by Karen Otto, Collin County, Plano, TX Home Stager".
It's a nice list, already done for me by the great folks that be at Active Rain, of links to previously written posts by none other than me of course that I had posted to Localism.
It targets my area, Collin County, Plano, TX, the area that I primarily service and keeps me in the local loop which is of course where I WANT TO DO BUSINESS.
It's easy to put them in the body of the blog text and it's a quick way to give your readers a chance to go back and take a look at some blogs you wrote in the past they may have missed. I have done this before but it's a good way to keep your information current if you once in awhile add this list to the body of your blogs.
Some may think it's redundant, I'd agree if you do it to all your blogs, but once in a while as new content comes on board (well that's everyday now isn't it? some GREAT STUFF IS POSTED TO AR every minute of the day it seems) to keep some of your information current and fresh to new eyes, consumers as well as fellow RE professionals, I feel it's worth adding this to the body of a blog now and again.
So if you haven't already started posting some of your blogs to Localism, here's a good reason to start!

Karen, you know that part where you say you are still figuring out all this stuff. Well, sweety pie, I can't even figure out where the page is much less know how to check it out. I can get to your page with your link. I like that. Now how do we each get to our own pages? Thanks for your help and the great information.
Mysteries never cease do they Yvonne? I believe your "feature" in localism is created by the AR powers that be once you post something to it. Have you done that before? Post to your local area any of your blogs? Before Google "alerted" me to the page I honestly didn't know how to find it myself, but I never really looked either. I wish I could be of more help. But sometimes it's the blind leading the blind and then a helpful "sight dog" will come and help us both!
You are so right Karen! I have posted to localism. I need to do it again. Let's hope someone comes along to "lead the way!" Thanks for getting this started Karen!
All you have to do is select localism in your AR blog post, then select your region all the way down to your neighborhood. It is easy and simple to do. You can even put listings on localism once you go there and put in your information.
Hi Matthew, thanks for stopping by. I do know how to post to Localism but the real question is how to find your "feature page" on Localism once you got it there. I know it's the same stuff we have on our AR profiles but what's nice about that page is that it has all the previous posts to Localism all in one spot. I only found it because of the Google Alert. Otherwise I really wouldn't have ever checked it.
I'm reading more and more that it's about creating a niche. Localism will alway us to focus on specific towns or communities rather than the large area. This reminds me. I need to edit my posting to post on the local front :-)
Hi Scott, targeting your specific area is what it's all about. Posting pertinent blogs with good information for your area (like listings) is a great way to get exposure for yourself. By all means, post locally! I also started a group for our local RE Pros too on AR as a way to meet others on AR that are in my area or around here.
I love localism and appreciate having a venue like Active Rain to post to localism. I've read from some of the experts that our posts should mostly be for localism with one every now and then to members.
As far as posting goes, I post to groups with members most always especially when I need feedback for things. I've also made some great contacts and friends throughout the country on AR by posting to "members" in groups its a way to get to know each other around here. Thank you for stopping by!
