I Waited for the Solar Storm

By
Real Estate Agent with Exit 1 Stop Realty

After all the news recently about the sun storm expected today, I became fearful that my internet would be down, my GPS would not work, and Siri on my cell phone would irritate me more than usual. Was I wrong! Absolutely nothing happened. It was a mini Y2K all over again. You're probably wondering what brought about such fear... the last time I remember being warned about solar flares was several years ago on Halloween. The darn things set off my home's fire alarm. As I sat in my driveway dressed in a furry Tigger suit (assuming the noise was some Halloween prankster on the backstreet), the firetruck came roaring onto our street, pulled into my driveway, and the firefighters went into my house, checking the main floor, basement, and even the attic searching for the fire. After a very thorough search, it was decided the alarm was set off by the solar flares. Mortified at a false alarm, and dressed in the Tigger suit as everyone on the street came down to see what was the cause of all the excitement, I wanted to blend in with the crowd (difficult in the bright orange costume)! Needless to say as today came to an end, I was thrilled to not be at the center of the solar storm again!

Margo, now that I have a mental vision of you in the Tigger suit, I'm never going to worry about solar flares again!  :-)  Let's hope we get thru tomorrow with our GPS's (and electronics) intact!

Solar flares send gremlins to reek havoc later.

Yesterday was typical of the media.  Hype what "might" happen so you'll stay tuned all day for all their mindless updates.  Once you hear there can be problems.... move on.  There's nothing you can do about them anyway!

We were watching something on tv last night and the picture fluttered for a few seconds.......perhaps that was the storm...........less is always better when dealing with something like that!
