Well, it isn't snowing through the pines just yet but it is Christmas in Dixie and especially with these mortgage rates! Denise Greene, one our newest members on Active Rain and a very fine mortgage consultant sent an update to me today on current mortgage rates that she can provide through Mortgage of America Partners, LLC. Even though the rates edged slightly upward from last week, they are still fantastic! I have a 5.5% interest rate on my North Georgia log cabin and that rate is over 3 years old now. Just goes to show you that rates are still great! Denise, can "wrap it up" just in time for Christmas!
30 year fixed rate = 6.00%
15 year fixed rate - 5.5%
Also, Mortgage of America Partners, LLC is offering a special loan program designed specifically for employees of the police force, teachers and firefighters.

Qualified buyers should indeed take advantage of this current market. Rates are good and inventory is plentiful. Nice video Donna, I enjoyed the song and the message.
Donna, A great song. The interest rates are terrific right now and so are those beautiful cabins you have for sale, I'm sure there are going to be some happy buyers for them this season.
James, Derrick, Carole, Keith and Robin: Thanks for checking out this post and leaving a comment. I just had to use Alabama's Christmas in Dixie somewhere and with these low interest rates, it really is Christmas in Dixie for smart buyers!
Karen: They are talking about snow on Sunday here in the mountains, so maybe we'll get that snowing in the pines for Christmas in Dixie afterall. Thanks for your comment. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Very astute to point out the low interest rates, but my favorite part of this is your reference to "Christmas Dixie" Great way to combine the holidays with real information.
Margaret: I mostly wanted to let buyers know that money is still available and at great interest rates for creditworthy borrowers. I've been hearing too much lately about how bad it is to get a mortgage now and I have to say, quite frankly, we are not having that problem in my area. Thank you for visiting. Merry Christmas.
Tom: I have had a couple of buyers disagree with me recently and I was quite surprised. Although, I do respect anyone's opinion whether in agreement or opposition to mine, I also expect proof as a back up. The market statistics in my area speak for themselves, not to mention the historically low interest rates. I had one person tell me he didn't believe me but I could back up what I was saying with real market data and lenders for him to talk to. When I asked him what proof he had to the contrary, he had nothing to share. I guess what some folks hear in the news means more than actual sales data straight out of the MLS. Thank you for your comment.
