Snowdrops in Havertown

These tiny flowers are called Snowdrops so named that because they are resilient enough to push their way up through the snow. A tiny green spot on the tip stands out in contrast to the blinding white snow. When it's there!

Well as you can see, we have no snow to speak of so far this winter and it's early March already. When the solar light shines at night it is a sweet corner of the garden next to the house.

It's so nice to see all the flowers popping up already around the country.  Seems early but I relish the color as a nice chage from the dull winter.

The little fairie among those snowdrops looks so content to be there:-)  This week it seemed everything that was staying dormant in my yard decided to explode.  It makes a considerable difference in mood, when the flowers are blooming!

Suzanne, I didn't know that was that flower was called.  I love this time of year when the new growth begins to burst forth!

Cindy - I do so enjoy the bulbs coming to life in early Spring. The colors are intense from drab winter brownish gray.

Myrl - Now we know why the sun was worshipped in Ancient Egypt. It brings life from the earth.

Tony & Darcy - Spring is popping out all over here in PA. I'm anxious to see my first Robin Red Breast the harbinger of Spring.

Suzanne, I never heard of them, but at first glance they looked like Orchids.

Nick - You probably don't get Snowdrops in Alabama. They are tiny perennial bulbs that break through the snow and thrive.
