Spring Forward: DST Starts Tomorrow

DSTIt's that time of year again! I just wanted to leave you a quick reminder that tomorrow starts Daylight Saving Time, so you will want to turn your clocks forward an hour before you go to bed.

Yesiree bob, it's that time of year when we Spring Forward, and lose an hour of sleep. I don't know about you, but Springing Forward always messes with me. Each year it seems to take longer and longer to adjust to the time change. The girls (umbrella cockatoos, Ingrid and Angel) don't seem to take kindly to the time change either, but they definitely don't have as long an adjustment as I.

DST Spring forwardOne way to remember which way to adjust your clocks is the mnemonic, Spring Ahead - Fall Back.

There is a long history to Daylight Saving Time, but suffice it to say, Germany was the first country to use it during World War 1. Since then, there has been some controversy over using DST. There are the proponents of a "Permanent Daylight Saving Time" as well as proponents of No Daylight Saving Time, or using Standard Time.

Whether you like DST or not, we still have to turn our clocks forward 1 hour tonight. And so, I'll leave you with this one final graphic as I remind you one more time to Spring Forward: Tomorrow starts DST.

Eileen, our weather has been crazy down here. We had almost no winter to speak of, and already we've had near 80 degree temperatures. I've even had to start mowing the yard! Daffodil blooms have come and gone, and we aren't even half way into March. That said, the market here is really heating up, and that is a very good thing! I hope your weather continues to be good.
