Truth or Dare

sector 9What creatively odd things can you do with a skateboard and an octopus? Well, if it involves a certain meme, probably a lot. I was recently tagged by friend, Dave Sulvetta. The subject being "5 Dark & Daring Secrets from the Heart", but I save those for Margarita Mondays. So here are "5 Random NikNik Truths".

(1)   I ride a long board (skateboard). Sector 9 preferably! It was the perfect transportation during college and saved me a lot of cash on parking passes.

(2)   I've had an octopus stuck on my head. Yes, you read that correctly. I'm a certified Padi Rescue Diver and have encountered my share of sea-life. But nothing compares to getting a big fat tentacle kiss and being left in a cloud of ink. That's hot!

(3)   I need a grande triple nonfat 2 pump mocha with whip to start my day off right! Whether I make it at home or visit my local Starbucks, it's a must! And the perfect accompaniment to my morning Google Reader extravaganza.

(4)   I'm an iPod dance-aholic. Anytime, anywhere...I'm a dancing fool. But I usually get caught dancing in my gym locker room. Oops...didn't know you were in here, and I don't really care anyway.

(5)   I'm clumsy! Yes, I may have all the right dance moves but when it comes to walking down the sidewalk I'd be safer on my skateboard. I once sprained my ankle while walking on the sidewalk after my aikido class. My toes are very tired from all the stubbing!

Oh, and don't think your getting off easy. Laura Monroe, Jennifer Wilson. and Jeff Belonger.....you've all been officially tagged.  Deep secrets or random truths, you choose!

sector 9, good taste! . here's a funny story about those guys.

I owned a snowboard/skateboard shop here in Denver from 1996-1999. When sector 9 came out in 1997, the owners drove across country for 3 months straight in a motor home(s9 customized, or course) meeting owner's of every snowboard shop they could find. They actually left 10 boards at my shop and told me to pay for them only if they sold(talk about trust). I was a little skeptical, but agreed. A week later, I had sold all 10 they had left, and they continued to be my #1 selling product the whole time I had my shop open.    I still have my original board to this day.

I hope you still support them, cause that is true soul right there. Random, but I never thought I'd see someone mention sector 9 on AR!

Nicole....  LOL   first off, if you are going to meme someone, you need to e-mail them... lol  I just happened across your post here, read it, and saw my name at the end. I thought I was seeing doubles.

In regards to your meme, maybe you need to put a definition to the word 'long board'.  If I had to guess, I would have said it was some type of surf board.  But I saw the picture and what you said in regards to the fact that your long board saved you parking fees and got you through college. So, using my common sense that I have, lol, I knew that it had to be something other than a surf board. Not unless you had classes out in the middle of the water... lol

So, you are a dance-aholic?    Will we see this on January 9th?  ;o)  I sent you a follow up e-mail about this asking you some questions, but I never heard back from you. But I will be there the 8th and 9th...  thanks for the tag, I think....  number 4 coming up... lol   PS... you might want to e-mail the others to let them know.

Hey Nik! What a shock to get your email this morning. I haven't played this game since High School ;-)

Wow, your truths are great! This is going to be hard to top.

Thanks for the variety of responses....I wasn't sure if anyone would read this.

Eric-I am just as surprised as you that a reader actually knows what a Sector 9 is, let alone have a great story about them. I still have my first deck as well....although it's been hanging on my garage wall for far too long. I'm hoping to pass the torch to my daughter eventually.

Rich-Let's hope Jeff gets REALLY creative!

Bill-I should tag you too...how do you keep up with it all! Amazing!

Jen-ha ha ...you're in the hot seat now!
