"This will increase your Real Estate business"

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

"this will increase your Real Estate business" is the broken record that makes Realtors tune out to sales pitches. The products that are being pushed seldom result in any activity and create a huge learning curve to use the particular product. The only thing that seems to get these people to stop calling is to tell them you have no money. Real Estate agents seem to be the target of marketing trash products that are at best a star dust type scenario. I have the contention that If your product is so good, give a free 6 months trial and if there is business generated then it is worth it. Obviously no has ever taken me up on this. I now just tell them not to call back and hang up. Real Estate agents as a collective force can only purge these products by refusing to use them. In the long run this type of distraction only hurts the consumer as we as real estate agents have our focus on these things rather than the known method of prospecting and cultivating business. Working hard in your real estate is the tried and true method of increasing your real estate sales.

Hi Bonner,  I agree that working hard is the SECRET of real estate.  Add the power of positive thinking and you go it............

Bonner, I agree. I just ask if it is a sales call and then respond with "I am not interested". I agree that if it is so great they should let you feel and use it before committing.

The minute I hear the words, are you looking to increase your sales or we are looking for top agents in your area I immediately chime in is your product free? Response no but, well unless it's free Im not joing. You see you cant get blood out of turnip and you can squeeze a dime out of a broke person. I noticed they dont call that much anymore :) Your Orlando & Lake Mary Real Estate Expert, Heather Joubran

People do not appreciate free.  Sometimes you work harder when you know there is a cost to it.  If it works for someone else and you apply the same to it that they do, then it should work for you.  The person with the most money makes the rules.

Thanks for the comments. I also mention how bad the market is. Also tell them to put you on their DNC list.

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

Spammers and telemarketers are in my same 'scum' category!  Being a 'good old Southern girl', I CAN'T hang up on them!  So, I just say, "I've already spent my marketing allowance for the quarter and have designated the balance of my marketing funds for the remainder of the year.  If you can give it to me free and let me pay for the services with my first commission from your 'business generator,' then send it my way!  They ALWAYS laugh and I have yet to receive a 'business generator' for free!

As for spammers, I just hit DELETE--doesn't affect my 'status' as a 'good old Southern girl'!

Bonner,  Your comments may also apply to those companies who simply aggregate leads and then want to sell them back to us !  I still think the best money we can spend is in developing our web presence and sales training.

Bonner, great post!  I couldn't agree more, I love the idea that they, like most of us should let us use their product first if it works they get paid, if not like us they don't!

Bill,

Don't even want go there with the aggregate real estate leads. This would make a great post for a whole issue to let real estate agents know they are hurting theirselves by paying twice for leads that we create.

Bonner, great blog.  I do get tired of the calls, but like you I just tell them I'm not interested now or in the future!
