Whenever I come across something that will help others, I share it with everyone. 15 years ago I weighed 53 pounds more than I do today. It was a combination of eating out of depression and anxiety which packed on 30 lbs. Then I had a bizarre accident tripping and falling on the wire door of my dog’s crate which severed an artery, required 120 stitches and 3 days in the hospital. By the time I healed, I’d packed on another 23 lbs!
I decided it was time to address my issues with food. I’d been using it to feel better, calm my anxieties or treat myself for a job well done. Clearly it wasn’t working and the proof was on the scale!
I started eating healthy, non-processed foods high in vitamins, nutrients and fiber. If it came in a box, can or bag I didn’t eat it. I took a class on nutrition and learned how to read and understand food labels which can be so deceiving!
I dropped 53 pounds, but not overnight. However, within 3 weeks, I completely stopped craving high fat, high sugar foods and started craving grapes, apples, broccoli and salmon which blew my mind for obvious reasons. Moreover, I felt better than ever, had more energy and felt less anxious and depressed.
