How to Break the Sugar, Carb Addiction for Good – a Book that Explains it All!

Whenever I come across something that will help others, I share it with everyone. 15 years ago I weighed 53 pounds more than I do today. It was a combination of eating out of depression and anxiety which packed  on 30 lbs. Then I had a bizarre accident tripping and falling on the wire door of my dog’s crate which severed an artery, required 120 stitches and 3 days in the hospital. By the time I healed, I’d packed on another 23 lbs!

I decided it was time to address my issues with food.  I’d been using it to feel better, calm my anxieties or treat myself for a job well done. Clearly it wasn’t working and the proof was on the scale!

I started eating healthy, non-processed foods high in vitamins, nutrients and fiber. If it came in a box, can or bag I didn’t eat it. I took a class on nutrition and learned how to read and understand food labels which can be so deceiving!  

I dropped 53 pounds, but not overnight. However, within 3 weeks, I completely stopped craving high fat, high sugar foods and started craving grapes, apples, broccoli and salmon which blew my mind for obvious reasons. Moreover, I felt better than ever, had more energy and felt less anxious and depressed.

So up to now you’ve thinking – so what, I heard this all before! But here’s what going to help you change your relationship with food forever so you never crave these foods again and can still occasionally treat yourself to your favorite treats without starting the insane cravings!  

While I knew what I was doing worked –after all, I’ve kept off 53 lbs for 15 years and no longer craved the foods that were spiritually, physically and emotionally killing me, I didn’t understand the science behind it until recently when I was in an airport bookstore…

Kristine, the processed carbs (breads/snacks) take a toll on us cause they don't pass through but pack on as fat. It is so tricky with eating and watching your percentage body fat and total weight yet enjoying living and not being a monk. Great book reference here you have given us.

Kristine, so right...i eat a healthy diet of vegetables & fruit...once you start removing sugar especially from the diet the urge goes away...great book..

I try to eat fresh unprocessed foods but not giving up carbs... nope.  I'm having butternut risotto and olive bread with my grilled carrots, fresh spinach & steak tonight.  I keep a check on my blood work and health, but I'd be miserable without bread every single day.
