Harbur Home Services Home Inspections: How do we Detect Water Damage?
One of the most important areas to focus on when doing home inspections in South Florida, is the detection of water infiltration and damage from moisture. With our FLIR thermal imaging (infrared) camera, I can quickly tell where the water damage is and from there tell what the cause is. There is more to this than just a fancy camera, you must have training on how to use the equipment as well as how to identify what are called thermal “anomalies” or moisture that should not be there.
In dealing with moisture detection, it is crucial to have someone that is trained on how to use a thermal imaging camera. It is surprisingly easy to confuse the cold air coming from an a/c vent, with a potential leak and a reflection from a window, with a incorrectly diagnosed water stain. I have years of training and experience, and have certification from the leading thermography training institute (ITC) inMassachusetts.
When you use Harbur Home Services for your home inspection, you get the best. You aren’t dealing with a large franchise where you never know who is going to do your inspection and more importantly what their training and experience is. I am the owner and primary inspector, and I have the training and personal touch that gives you the confidence to make that home purchase safe and worry free. I am always prompt and pride myself on investing in the most cutting edge equipment and training available.
