Should I Get A Home Inspection On New Construction?

Here is a question that people ask me all the time... Why should I get a home inspection on a new house? I mean its a new house, why would you need to get a home inspection? The house was just built and everything is new. The house has just passed codes and building inspections.

However... NO HOME IS PERFECT! Not even a new home! It is very important for you to know what your buying. Although there are many people that come through the house, these people are working on one particular area of the home. And... usually there is only one person that overlooks that these individual tasks have been completed.

Ive recently seen a home inspection on a new home that reported some pretty significant issues that the builder has missed when building the home.  One of these items was a leaky pipe that had it gone unnoticed would have been a huge problem. If this wasn't caught it would have continued to leak and caused a pretty spendy problem to fix.  

You see... When you hire a licenced home inspector, they are trained to find problems that most people would miss. This is what they do for a living and they are good at it.

So, here is my recommendation to anyone looking to buy a home. Always get a home inspection, whether the home is 15 years old... or 15 days old! This way you know what your getting yourself into. You are probably about to make the biggest investment in you life. A home inspection is a great way to get some cheap insurance and feel safe with your investment.
