27 Comments on Can't get that song out of my head! (I promise it is Real Estate Related!) lol!
BLiz - Come on, you probably have awesome closing skills and scipts without even knowing it!!! :) How are you guys? I am making a come back!
I sometimes get tongue-tied when I'm talking to a prospect but since I don't use a script, there's always a chance to recover. Welcome back Chris!
Chris the funny thing is that I know every word to the songs when they are playing on the radio but without the radio I don't think I could get past the first line. If I did use scripts I guess I would have to set them to music to get through them.
Chris, That may not be a bad idea, commit our scripts to song! I am sure that they would stay much longer in our heads!
What I don't like is when a song I never did like gets stuck in my head. I never turn music on when I'm working, but when I go out to my husband's shop, he usually has an oldies station on, and something will "catch me."
But today I'm better. Last night I was at my son's house and he had a CD of famous old "novelty" songs going. So, I sang and danced to "Purple People Eater." So today, I've at least got a fun song that I like going around in there.
Oh - and as for scripts. I was in real estate for 19 years and never did learn one.
Thanks Bryan... I think meeting with you a few days ago sparked my inner blog desire! Thanks! And I will call you Friday! :)
Jim, then do it!!! And send me the tape. :)
T & D - Can you imagine going to a short sale listing and singing your scripts for the luxury market? HA!
Marte - I bet when you talk to your clients, you know exactly what to say!!!! :)
Also, try singing commercials... I wish I had an oscar meyer...
Okay Chris, so what was the song??? You don't have to share, but here is my offering.
I'm sure you would enjoy singing one of your classes to keep it interesting!
Gloria
Thanks guys!!! HA!
My song was an oldie by George Strait. :)
Short commutes tend to make better concert halls than those of us who spend longer on the road and find ourselves singing both sides of a duet...
Paul - I can see you singing both parts to Islands in the Stream... LOL!
Emily - But that is quite funny!!! Let's hammer out some deals baby!!! :)
Chris, this idea could become a gold mine on iTunes! The first one that comes to mind for me is "if I had a hammer" however, I know that will not be the line to close a deal!
But don't you think that prospective buyers and sellers would look at us funny if we started singing at them?
Chris, our brains do actually absorb material quicker if it's sung than spoken. Interesting.
Chris - you really do NOT want to have a tape of me singing. Unless you intend to use it for blackmail...
That is a great comparison. Im sure its because most people listen to a song very often and dont take the same time to learn the script. They just read it a few times and think it will stick. Love the comparison.
There was a Real Estate trainer back in the 1990's that had all the scripts he taught set to a song to help you remember them. I can't remember his name.
