The 2012 COLES CROSSING CROCS swim season will be here before you know it!! Online registration begins, Monday, March 26 and ends Saturday, March 31. 

The mandatory parent meeting will be held at the community center on Sunday, April 15 at 4PM.  There, you will find out all you need to know about this FUN, continually-growing team of swimmers!!

"So, when does practice begin?" you ask.  The first practice is scheduled for after school, Tuesday, April 17th.  Time will be based on your child's age group and will be announced at the parent meeting.

 

If your child can paddle his/her feet and has a love for the water, I highly encourage you to look into swim team.  MANY years ago (11 to be exact), my husband and I were encouraged by the lifeguards at our neighborhood pool to get our son on the swim team.  We both thought, "he is too young", and dismissed the idea.  The lifeguards kept telling us the same thing the next year, so FINALLY...at age 7, we let him join the Winchester Hurricanes!  Our son absolutely LOVED it!!  So much so, that he is now on the high school swim team, and he continues to swim on the Coles Crossing summer-league team as well.  Our youngest also enjoyed swim team for five years, but she has now opted to focus on basketball. :)

If you are thinking about signing up, but are not sure if your child is ready, call me!  I can tell you what our experience was for our children who were both little water-bugs!  It truly is a fun sport and a great way to get to know your neighbors and their children!

Sonja,  swimming is a whole body exercise as well as a skill for life and no one can take away. It will be good for young children.

Kwee, I was not a swimmer growing up, but I am now!!  It IS wonderful exercise as you mentioned--for the whole body.  I wish I had been on swimteam when I was a child! :)
