Karen, The inventor of the tractor and early engineers obviously nailed the foundation for this tool. Today's tractors retain a lot of the original design elements. Better materials now, but many of the same characteristics.

Karen, I'm originally from the Quad Cities - home to the original John Deere.  I remember we got to go visit the tractor museum for a school trip - even then, I was amazed.  Yes, I always thought it would be fun to drive those.
