You hear it all over town! In the grocery store, on the ski slopes, office meetings or in an exclusive restaurant. So just what is Tahoe time? Well maybe it's the thinner air or perhaps the fact that we are closer to the sun. It does not care what your gender is nor does it care how much you have in the bank it just creeps up one day and there you are living on Tahoe time.
I have not spoken with one person that has not come into the basin and viewed the absolute beauty that did not have to stop and take a deep breath. Maybe that is why we have Tahoe time. We ensure our main road is the only way around the Lake with a speed limit that averages 35 miles an hour. Now why would any town undergoing such huge redevelopment not think of mass transit? Well if you were driving 55 on a main highway you would not have time to see the bear cubs chasing each other, or the coyotes darting across the road. See we are already teaching you Tahoe Time.
So just what is Tahoe time? For me it was a slowing down inside, taking a breath and really looking at the area around me. The day I realized I had found I it was driving to meet some some clients and I looked up onto Heavenly mountains and saw a sunset that I have not been able to compare to any others since and had to just pull over and stare. Then I had to explain to Lake Front buyers just why I was late! So I rushed them to the Lake and introduced them to Tahoe time. So for me it's not an excuse as some would try to use for their late behavior but a feeling inside that tells you to plan ahead so you can enjoy when it's time.
