Who hasn't learned many of life's lessons the hard way. I remember writing a post called The Easy Path VS The Hard Path where I described our choice in life between the path of resistance and the path of least resistance. Then I came across this thought, "When you get the lesson, you don't need the experience."
It seems that God (or The Universe) allows experiences to come into our lives so that we might learn valuable lessons. Isn't it true that we learn more through the difficulties of life than than the easy spells?
What would happen though, if we learned the lesson without having to go through the pain of the experience? Would we then need the experience?
2007 has been a difficult year for real estate practitioners, agents, lenders, appraisers, title reps, etc. It has been a year of struggle, worry, and downright pain for many.
What lessons have we learned?
- Don't take the good times for granted
- Don't assume your income will ALWAYS go up
- Don't forget that the market moves in cycles
- Don't forget your friends on the way up the ladder, you may need them later
- Don't take your customers for granted
- Don't forget to give thanks every day for life's blessings
- Don't forget that what goes up, must come down
- Don't forget that this too shall pass
- Don't take your family, and other important relationships for granted
What have you learned in 2007? What lesson did life deliver to you this year? I'd like to read your lesson learned.
Don't.......
