It is that time of year and we should all take time out from our busy schedules to support our area and our friends and families in need. My next couple of posts will include opportunities to participate and help others that either may be less fortunate or may be far away from home. Please join in if you can...or if you are in another area...check out local opportunities in your town or community. The local volunteer center, library or schools are a great place to start...And, remember... " you get what you give."
The Mahwah Police Department has always been a wonderful support for our schools. Below is a message that describes a wonderful opportunity for our entire school community to support the Mahwah Police. Please consider donating to this worthy cause.
"Toys for Tots" - Over the next two weeks, the Mahwah Police PBA Local 143 will be collecting toys for the Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" Campaign in tribute of retired Det. Lt. Michael Marozin, who passed away suddenly in 2005.
Mike served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era before joining the Mahwah Police Department and Mahwah PBA Local 143 in 1972. In honor of Mike, we will be collecting toys for the Marine Corps "Toys for Tots Drive" again this year.
This is a program created by the United States Marine Corps to collect and distribute toys to needy children in the areas where they are collected.
In addition to wrapped boxes being placed in Ramapo Ridge Middle School and Mahwah High School, there are also toy boxes located at the A&P and CVS on Franklin Turnpike, Ramapo College and CVS in Wyckoff.
If you wish to support this program, please encourage your child to drop off a new, unwrapped toy to one of these locations. Contact : Michael Grassi , Mahwah PBA Local 143 , Toys for Tots Coordinator Mahwah Police Department - Mahwah Police Department Click on the link for more information.
