This is an update to the post Upload regional photos to Localism.com and earn points!
Based on member comments we made a couple of quick changes to the photo upload capability on the consumer portal Localism.com
- Photos are now being automatically resized to a maximum of 800x600 upon upload, since full size pictures were being uploaded straight from digital cameras.
- We added the ability for members to delete photos they've uploaded. There is now a login button where ActiveRain members can log in in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Uploading a photo which requires a username and password will also automatically log you into localism. Once logged in you won't have to supply this username and password again. We decided to keep things really simple so if you want to move or change the description on a photo, delete and reupload it.
- Added a simple page that shows the last 100 photo's uploaded at http://localism.com/recent-photos
- On the main state/county/city pages changed it to thumbnails of 6 photos show instead of 10 and also randomized which photos show.
- Update: If logged in members now should see ALL cities and counties not just ones that have content.
Will be automating the point rewards for contributing photos on Monday. We had about 600 photos contributed since we put up the feature on Friday.

Update: There are a number of photos on Localism that are of the same image from a different angle. In addition some photos are duplicated for different levels, city, county, state, etc.
We will change how photos are displayed, but to all those members who've duplicated photos, or used very similar ones, I would appreciate it if you would remove them. Each photo submitted by you should be unique.
I appreciate this, and I'm sorry I wasn't initially clearer.
Thank you,
Caleb
