Check your exterior wood for wood rot and the condition of the paint.  Nothing brightens a house like freshly painted trim.

Last but not least, get rid of clutter.  Become a minimalist.  Rent a storage unit and store your extra furnishings and out-of-season clothes from your closets.  Your closets will look more spacious with clothese minimized, and your house will look more spacious without the clutter.
