R&A~I love what was said in the slideshow about how Telluride is a "community first and resort second"...I think I got that right. Those humongous log cabins, with floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces and stupendous views are what we who love a sense of openness the PICTURE OF PERFECTION.

I've always heard great things about Telluride.

Alexandra - I would love to visit there. The homes are beautiful and I didn't realize it was on the National Historic Register-you do learn something new everyday in the Rain.

I have an acquaintance who is "addicted" to Telluride.  And, from that photo above and your video, I can see why.

Okay, I'm longing for a vacation to Telluride. I will take the slideshow tour with you in a bit. The photo is very Frank Lloyd Wright. Water and river rock meet home.

Alexandra,

Telluride, I believe, is one of those hidden places in the United States.  It combines the laid-back feelings of Rocky Mountain living combined with the luxury of some areas of Aspen... g

Beautiful.  I agree with Debb above, Frank LLoyd Wright immediately came to my mind as well.

Sharon,

It is a beautiful environment, perfect and secluded.  We are looking forward to visiting there one of these days, I am sure we will be enchanted by it all.  Colorado is an amazingly beautiful state.

Gayle,

Everyone Ron spoke to loves the place they work in.  It is as if they loved it so much that Ron was able to translate it in this article.  Everyone in Telluride was pleased.  They do know the art of the log cabin, and the pictures tell the story.  We have always been fascinated by the log cabin, and it is  an American statement, in a sense.

John,

Thanks for expressing it so well, we are looking forward to trekking that way soon.  There is so much to see in our beautiful country, isn't there?

Toni,

I do learn something on a daily basis on Active Rain.  And I had no idea about the Historical Register...It is a wonderful feat to preserve our heritage.  Thanks for your comment.

Don,

It is a wonderful place and I can truly see why your acquaintance is so addicted...

Debb,

I had the same exact impression when I saw that picture.  That is why we chose it as the lead photo for this article.  Ron and I are lovers of Frank Lloyd Wrights' architecture, and have been fortunate to see a few homes of his.  One of our friends had one in Los Angeles, and I loved going over to his house.  There is a whole center in Arizona near Scottsdale where his work can be seen, I highly recommend it if you are a fan.

Gordon,

You described it so beautifully, and now I am really looking forward to  a trip there...Thanks for that definiteve view of Telluride.

Silvia,

It is so wonderful that you echo our feelings of recognition of Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture.  What a great influence he has had on architecture today.

Happy Monday, and have a great week.  Alexandra
