If you are already stationed in Hawaii and you are collecting BAH, your rate will not DECREASE!!! You are considered to be "grandfathered" for the duration of your assignment to Hawaii.

David, dont you mean that if you are already living in HI that your rate will stay the same? Once you are already getting a BAH, it doesn't do down if the rate goes down...it can only go up. It is only the new personnel that will get the lower rate. For example here in CO, the rate went up for most...We will getting about $50 more a month. Last year the rate decreased so when we moved here we didnt get as much as the people who were already here. Your rate wont decrease unless you loose your dependents or a few other scenarios. Just wanted to clarify that! :)
