Eliminating InEfficiencies in our Real Estate WorkPlace Daily

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with California Coastal Estates DRE 01329427

In today's world of Real Estate you want to work SMARTER, NOT HARDER!!! I don't care how old you are, it's not too late to jump into the COMPUTER /technology AGE!!! I hear over and over that an office has not sent over a document, a file, an executed contract. With today's technology you can click a button NEXT and sign the darn thing!!!

SO, WHAT'S THE EXCUSE??? There should be NONE or you are NOT working with the right Realtor(R). Real Estate business across the country is being conducted with seamless solutions right on your smart phone. What boggles my mind is that those of us in the business aren't taking advantage of the amazing technology tools out there. I DO know what has made my LIFE and BUSINESS easier and it has been the ability to Electronically sign documents with for electronic signatures. I can create them with my mobile version of Winforms as well... (for a small price). Here in Orange County, CA you can go into your profile and choose in your WINFORMS, making your tasks even easier since it is on one portal. As for Winforms (your real estate forms website) you can also sign into WINFORMSONLINE.com in case you sign in on your iPad, another computer while vacationing, your smart phone because you want to have access to your file. Regardless, of you how you get on site to access your file it's more efficient when you go to the same database as well. So, don't download your forms to your desktop when you could be more efficient and have your files online with Winforms. Especially, now that you have your electronic signatures capability attached to your Winforms site.

Being efficient in my tasks has also saved me time and money. So, those of you that are not using electronic signatures, a smart phone or doing mosts of your tasks online. Not only are you probably losing clients, you are losing money (I guess losing a client is losing money, but if you add the two, that's more of a loss...) and time away from your family. At the end of the year I am able to create my updated Business Plan with changes and I am amazed how every-time I have added one more technological solution to my Business plan my expenses have gone down and allowing me to put that money into marketing. I will look forward in seeing how much more revenue I have made this year compared to last year, by working more efficiently due to my decision in using technology solutions for my business. has been one of the key components to my success. I started using a year ago Spring of 2011 and there is not turning back!

If, you are a Short Sale expert as I am, most banks accept electronic signatures. So, don't feel intimidated, jump in and start eliminating INEFFICIENCIES in you daily work.

Lauren,

Great post.  I started using DocuSign 6 months ago.  It's AMAZING!  Talk about time-saving and LEGIBILITY!  (Crazy how one would still want to be able to READ a contract they've signed.

All the best, Michelle

Sounds like a times saving tool. Can it be used on an Ipad too?  I was thinking about buying one.

We who are Blessed to partner with Keller Williams have our own internal E Edge program and one of the many modules is electronic signatures and electronic document storage.

We do some part if not all parts of every contract digitally and keep them as green as possible.

It really stands out when multiple parties to the transaction are in different towns.

Well, Kevin you don't need to be with ANY SPECIFIC firm TO GO digital... LOL~ But here on AR, you learn with your colleagues and tech savvy people like me that came from software firms before hitting the REAL ESTATE BIZ. We always want to stay ahead of cutting edge technology. One of the first years I started I got ePro certified and you learn to create your URL, to emails with company name over AOL, digital signatures and blogging... It's a great tool no matter where you learn it! Just do it! As NIKE says.......... ;) Stay efficient in your business!

YAY! DOCUSIGN>> LIKED MY POST ON FACEBOOK~ ;)

Thank you Bruce (CRS) --- well put ;) We will have to schedule a MeetUp when I'm on the island. Ironically, I was in Hawaii last year when I DocuSigned docs for a closing.... Right on the beach with my iPad ;)

Connie~ good ;) It's about time girly! Especially, if Lester signs lisitng (and he better!) because he may be in Europe, Asia or even Hawaii~ I am not joking.... as you know....

I love docusign, but I'm seeing more and more bank refuse to take them which is just frustrating. I see it no different than an electronic signature at a checkout line when using a credit card.

Great point Todd~ but then again, it's a large ticketed item. ;) LOL~ My only bank that I have issues with is BofA. They say, "wet signature please".

Lauren -- while electronic signatures makes life easier -- we need to remember, the human element is necessary too.   There is lot to explain and sometimes that is best in a face-to-face conversation and not in an email or by telephone.

Michael, I agree with face-to-face still, but when clients are traveling and buying from outside of the country... It's helpful! I've also have where buyers or sellers want to review to documents over night and then send them over. We still see each other and talk, etc.
