Now, the present building isn’t the original school, it is actually the 3rd school named West Union Elementary opening its doors in 1948. But, the original school, the first one that opened the school district in Washington County was built very close to the present location in 1852 and opening its doors to students in October of that same year.

Now West Union Elementary School is not built with a lot of homes around it, but rather looks very similar to what it did in 1852 being surrounded by rich farm land on all sides. There is a lot of pride in this school with its rich history I can completely understand why.
