Many of you who read my blogs on a regular basis have noticed that I have trouble sleeping all night long without waking up in the middle of the night.  Usually I wake up between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.

Someone the other day said "are you are sleepless in College Station?"  I remember many years ago watching the movie "Sleepless in Seattle."  Guess I need to go back and watch it again to see what it's about.

Why do I wake up? Guess it's a habit.  I've been doing it for the last twenty years or more.

I am more awake now at 2:08  a.m. than I will be at 7:00 a.m. when I have to REALLY wake up.  This is the time of night that I play games on Pogo.com or make comments on other people's blogs.  But whatever I do, it's on the computer.  After analyzing my insomnia, it must be the computer that wakes me up or rather KEEPS me up.  With that said, I think I'll crawl back in bed.  Tomorrow is a big day in real estate so I must sleep.

Do any of you wake up every night at a certain time?

I believe I said that to you Kay...LOL...

Answer to your question, "some of us never get to sleep"...still tapping away here on my keyboard. However, I was away most of the day. Good luck in your big real estate day tomorrow today!!

I am a terrible nightowl.  I am just now headed to bed and it is after 2:30am.

Sleepless in Seattle is not about sleep!  It is all about men & women.  There is an infamous and classic line in there about men and women being friends.  Good movie.

Working nights to pay the bills.  Selling homes by day in preparation of retiring from AT&T.  You'll find me here online most nights, commenting or writing my own posts between calls.

I'm a definite night owl... but I'm usually up at 7:00.  I used to hate mornings but I'm used to them now.  Good luck today!

I love the night - I don't get up in the middle of the night because it is generally the middle of the night when I go to bed.  Seriously though you might want to see a doctor about it - Have read a lot of articles about sleep apnea (not sure on the spelling) which might be the cause.  I feel like I need a disclosure here - I am no doctor, I have never been to medical school, hell I don't even know any doctors that good.

I wish you luck.

Long ago I would do that Kay, get up and do computer stuff, stumble back to bed in a couple of hours, then dread getting up later, I did find out about sleep apnea, I now sleep straight thru 7-8 hours and its blissful.  I awake refreshed and ready to conquer the day.  Have a great day.  :)

My metaphysical friend tells me if you awake at the same time all the time then you need to start writing down your dreams just as you awake, its the "universal guides"  telling you something and making themselves known.   (just another thought, not necessarily correct).

OMG, thank goodness that doesn't happen to me. I can't even imagine sleeping, being wide awake and then being able to go back to sleep so soon. But if it works for you and you are able to keep the machine rolling (blog) then I'd embrace it.

Rarely do I wake up but to make a potty run.  My sister does that when she is stressing.  It sounds like you have made it work for you though.

Riding on a country road the other evening, we surprised an owl. Maybe that's why they call us "night owls"!

Congratulations, Kay, on becoming the featured agent!

You are a featured agent.  that is great. I sometimes have trouble sleeping or wake up in the middle of the night and get on the computer because I cannot lay there in bed any longer. I have started listening to talk with headset on so I don't disturb my husband.  It helps me sleep. I guess that doesn't say much for talk radio.  Seems to work. Best to you in '08.

Hi Candace, Here I am back at the computer after a full day away.  I see you stay up rather late.  There's a large number of AR members online at 2:30.

Jason, I have read many of your blogs and noticed you are awake at the same time I wake up.

Hi Mtsike, Yeah I think it's a romantic comedy if I remember correct.  Oh well, I'm still sleepless in College Station....he.

Nancy, I hope you get to retire from AT&T soon.  Real estate will a lot easier for you then.  You must be exhausted.

12/13/2007 05:22 PM by Kay Perry (Classic Realty/GMAC)

Hi Jesse and Kathy, I think we are ALL night owls.  Thanks so much for my pretty banner.

"Dr." Vincent, I DO have sleep apnea and have to wear that old mask over my nose.  It's not very comfortable sometimes and I think that wakes me up.

12/13/2007 05:23 PM by Kay Perry (Classic Realty/GMAC)

Gail, I DO have sleep apnea but still wake up.  They are testing me again to see if the machine needs a new setting. I don't think I have ever in my life slept for 8 hours in a row.

12/13/2007 05:25 PM by Kay Perry (Classic Realty/GMAC)

Hi Colleen, Well it doesn't work too well for me to keep waking up so many times in the night.  It's not bad if it's only ONE time but sometimes it constant.  There are nights I can't even go to sleep.  I wish I could sleep.  At least I get things done while I'm awake.

12/13/2007 05:27 PM by Kay Perry (Classic Realty/GMAC)

Marchel, Sometimes it works for me and sometimes I'm just plain tired and dragging the next day.  I'm tired right now at 5:30 p.m.  But I will revive in a little bit.

12/13/2007 05:28 PM by Kay Perry (Classic Realty/GMAC)

I'm usually more productive later in the afternoon and into early evening. Sometimes I'll be up past 1 AM, but generally I try to shut down the PC and turn off the TV by midnight so I can get some rest and be ready for the next day.

Nathan, How did you surprise an owl?  I wouldn't recognize one if I saw it or heard it.  I'm a city girl.  I can't believe I'm a featured agent.  Now I have to work to stay there.  Thanks for your comments.  You are very nice.

12/13/2007 05:29 PM by Kay Perry (Classic Realty/GMAC)

Hi Pat, Yes I was surprised about being a featured agent.  It's taken a lot of work.  NOW I have to stay there...that may be quite a challenge....thanks...for noticing.

Kay

Khris, my wife, took me to that movie years ago after eating a big meal.  I fell asleep in the movie "Sleepless in Seattle" and was snoring so loud she had to elbow me to wake up and stop it. :-)
