No. 21 Lobos Fall In Third Round To No. 18 Cardinals, 59-56

Tonight in Portland, Oregon the University of New Mexico Lobos fell to the Louisville Cardinals, 59-56 in the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.  The Lobos under Coach Steve Alford was favored to win this game...unfortunately the tenor of the game changed when Lobos star forward Drew Gordon hyper-extended his knees.  It was quite a scare.  I think that was the turning point in the game.  The Lobos played flat for the most part and just could not muster up the offensive fire power to overcome the advance of the Cardinals.

As the 2012 Mountain West Champion, I believe the Lobos can move forward and hold their heads up high.  Wish they would have made it to the Sweet Sixteen, but it wasn't to be.  Great Year Lobos.  Good Luck in 2013.

C Lloyd,

What a shame I love the Lobos. It is sad when athletes fall during a game like yesterday in the FA cup when Bolton player Muamba had a heart attack. I hope he will be okay.

Sorry for your loss C.Lloyd.  I know you love the Lobo's but it wasn't meant to be.  Maybe next year and I'll be out there helping you root for them too.  Good luck with the rest of your bracket.

Hello Everyone:

Thak you so  much for your comments.

Indeed Tom, my priorities are set.  I take the time off so I can watch March Madness.  Can't wait for the the Championship

Thanks Doug...My Bracket is went up in smokes already.

Thanks Yolanda...When Drew Gordon got injured, that was definitely the turning point in the game.

Lauren: I have heard the name Jamal Fenton.  Baylor is good!

Thanks Rosemary.  I love watching Baskeball.  I will definitely enjoy the rest of the games

Hi Ronald...Thank you.  The entire New Mexico was hoping that the Lobos would have at least made it to the Sweet Sixteen.

Hi Lloyd,

Recruiting this year should be easier for the LOBOS after an excellent season.
