I used to live in the small village of Ballston Spa in Upstate NY, most of you know I do miss it, specially this time of year.

I'm still in touch with a couple people up there and on occasion get emails about events and feel good stories from one of my favorite areas of our great country. Yesterday I received one such email with a story I just had to share with you.

The story appeared on Albany's Fox 23 News and was reported by Jeff Saperstone and is titled:

Holiday Hero; Stranger Pays For Woman's Gifts

It tells how one woman wanted to make a families Christmas a little brighter but was having difficulty doing so when a stranger stepped in help her.

Lysa ~ I'm all teary now - thanks!  That's what it is all about, more so at this time of year.  What a great person to step up and do that, AND to buy something for the Salvation Army volunteer!

Lysa - That's beautiful.  Never underestimate the power of a simple prayer.  But not only does the unnamed man deserve accolades, Pat Marciano is also an angel.  To give to others from her heart is truly a gift.  Merry Christmas to you and Steve.

Hi Lysa.

Its just me. I'm glad you liked the story. And just think its not only local now. Your the first person I thought of when I read the story I said mannnn Lysa needs to read this. A few years ago  I had the joy of spending Christmas's together with Lysa.  They were great times (its cool  you ought to see Lysa on Christmas morning.  She's like a little kid in a candy store its the coolest thing to see). I miss them. I'll have you know though there's about 8 inches of the white fluffy stuff you like so much that happened yesterday and more to come on Sunday.(grrr for me)

I hope this brings a little bit of Christmas cheer your way. I think of you often and Hope this year and the next Christmas's to come are the best yet. Happy New Year too.

BTW..

What you are doing in today's world is the best achivement yet. I am so proud of you. Keep your chin up and keep it all happening. As you know I'm always behind you 100%.

 Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmmm did I ever tell you that I lived in Ballston Spa, New York?   A very long time ago, one of my husbands first duty stations after we were married in 1970.  We were there 6 months and lived in an apartment on Beach Street.  We only had one car so I used to walk to the library at least once or twice a week. It was a beautiful area.  I can understand how you would miss it.
