is treasure for others.  In this case the pile of junk are parts salvaged from Chapman/Beverly Mill which was originally built in 1742.

Salvage Parts at Chapmans Mill

According to the website: "Chapman's Mill has ground cornmeal and flour for American troops during seven wars: The French and Indian, the Revolutionary, the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World War I and World War II."

Though the mill is currently just a shell it is interesting to tour and look at what remains over 200 years after it was built and realize the importance this mill had to Prince William County and the United States in times of peace, conflict and war.

Cindy,

I just level history we have in our area. For instance, I would've never thought of investigating something like this, but the historical significance to the war effort is enormous. Feeding the troops is what wins wars.

Richard I was surprised to read how many wars this mill had operated through and the fact that it had been critical in supplying to our troops.
