San Antonio Leisure Classes
A couple of weeks ago my daughter and I attended a one day writing class given by the Adult & Community Education department of the Northside Independent School District. It was a class on Romance writing. I actually have no interest in romance writing but my daughter asked me to attend with her, so I did. It was enjoyable to do something different and learn a little about a new subject.
The teacher made the class a lot of fun and we learned about different types of romance novels and other information related to the subject. At the end of the class, we were all asked to write an introductory paragraph to a story that we had just concocted as a group. Writer’s block! Not that I’m a writer… far from it. After we turned our paragraphs in, the teacher read a few of the better ones back to us and there actually were a couple of talented, aspiring romance writers in the class.
Today I received a Spring class catalog in the mail. As I flipped through it I saw that not only were there lots of classes that looked very interesting, there are also tours, sports, horsemanship, and a myriad of classes. You can learn about Gardening, Green Living, Sewing, Jewelry Making, Photography, Travel, Culinary Arts, Dog Obedience, Yoga, Dance, Money Management, Technology, and… I could go on, but I won’t.
