Weekly Market Update for Clairemont – 92117 – March 18, 2012

Clairemont, in the 92117 zip code – is a central community located in the city of San Diego, California. Clairemont is comprised of several neighborhoods within the 92117 boundaries: BayPark, Bay Ho, and Clairemont Mesa.

This week, inventory shortage is the hot topic. Typically, Clairemont carries about 80-90 active homes on the market which means we’re approximately 30% low on inventory for the area. We are watching to see if the spring sales season affects inventory and what affect this will have on prices in Clairemont if this continues through to the summer.

Central location

Beyond it’s diversity in housing choices from entry level homes to million dollar views, Clairemont is central to shopping, major freeways (805, 5, 52 and 163), medical facilities (10 minutes from VA hospital, UCSD, Scripps and Sharp), public and private schools, public libraries, and public transportation. It’s located just east of PacificBeach; about 10 minutes from the ocean and just 5 minutes from San Diego’s Mission Bay.
