Randy, these numbers are WAY above what my husband received when he was in the Air Force. It was before I knew him and I don't think we could have gotten any kind of housing on what they allowed him. He was enlisted 30 years ago so the numbers would have gone up, but these look pretty good!

I remember the allowance I was given for housing was barely enough to pay the gas and electricity, let alone the rent......enlisted people don't have it as good as the Officers, but every bit helps :)

Randy,

I would be interested to know the numbers for Captains...Majors... Coloronels and Generals. Is there such a thing?

Pretty high allowances compared to what I used to get...of course that has been 12 years!

Gary - Location has a lot to do with it.  Housing in Hawaii is pretty expensive.  You can look up your area on the website I linked in the post.

Randy, it is good to see that the military is being realistic about housing.  I always lived on base when I was in the military, so I do not know what they paid back then, but I still remember what I made every two weeks when I first went in ......... $80.  When I got out 4 years later I was an E-4 and making a little over $400 every two weeks.  It didn't take long to spend that, even back then.

My brother was in the Marine Corps during the 70s and I think he made less than that if I remember right.  With that level of compensation they had to draft.  Not many willing to join.

Hi Randy. I wanted to rent my condo in Ewa Beach. And yes, I prefer military. There is a website for military where I can advertise my unit. Do you know what the website is. Please contact me jovencio_s@yahoo.com

Thank you,

Joey
