Cherry Blossoms in Kentlands at the First Spring Dawn in Maryland - Roy and Dolores Kelley Photographs

We have beautiful weather in Maryland for the first day of spring.  This morning, I took a few photographs to capture the cherry blossoms in the moments before dawn in Kentlands.

The cherry trees in these photographs are on the grounds of the Kentlands clubhouse in Gaithersburg.  People from all over the world more to Montgomery County, Maryland for the jobs and for the quality of life offered in the area.  You can see why the Kentlands community is a favorite for relocation purchasers.

Be sure to have your camera in hand to capture the special moments when you are out and about in your community or during your travels.

Roy,

Those Cherry Blossoms are a sight to see and worth seeing! You captured all their beauty. They are so lovely to look at and it's easy to enjoy them - just look at them. They are gorgeous! They look as great as the ones I saw last year in Switzerland. I would love to see the whole world with cherry blossoms at the same time. Can you imagine the arial view?

Amazing! Just beautiful!

Roy- how gorgeous. We lived in Leesburg for 4 years and loved this time of year.  I'll never forget the first time we drove into DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival.  Breathtaking.

Good morning to all.  Thanks so much for your comments.  Yes, a trip to the Washington, DC area to see the cherry blossoms is something you will enjoy.  In addition to the cherry blossoms, there are many other blooms to see and photograph. The Star Magnolias are also beautiful in the spring.

Roy, absolutely breathtaking.  I particularly like the softness of the morning sky colors against the white blossoms.  Love those.

Good morning to all.  I always appreciate your comments.  We have a little fog in Maryland this morning and it is not the best for flower photographs.

One of the comments asked about the Maryland state flower.

The Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta) has been the official Maryland flower since 1918 when it was designated the "Floral Emblem" of Maryland by the General Assembly.

This photograph is from the Maryland State Archives
