The Woodlands Resort is Getting a Face Lift!!!

Fifty million dollars will be spent to transform The Woodland's Resort into a world-class destination. In hopes of drawing more and more Texas vacationers to  the master planned community, The Woodlands Development Corp is augmenting the facility with a 1,000-foot "lazy river" that will wind through the forested acres surrounding the property. The resort already includes a water playground that attracts visitors from as far away as Mexico. Other additions will include a four story building that will hold 158 guest rooms. When completed the resort will have a total of 380 guest rooms.

In addition the development company is also adding a steakhouse with a patio overlooking the 18th hole of the Panther Trails Golf Course.  The resturant will feature  an elegant indoor setting and wine room fitting for a four diamond property. The new lobby will include a grand living room with a double sided stone fireplace, a solarium and adjoining library.  A near by 4 story parking garage will hold 620 cars when complete.

The plans for the resort don't end with upgrading temporary housing.  In 2009, the development company expects to begin converting 10 lodges and the property's original parking lot to homes. Residential land sales will begin in 2010.
