Saints Pay the Price for Bountys, where is the Union in all this?

The New Orleans Saints Football team is getting its punishment from the NFL for having a bounty paid by its defensive coordinator paying players to hurt other players, usually stars on other teams.  The NFL clearly wanted to send a message, but what message will really be sent?n The team will lose draft choices, pay fines, lose their coach, etc. for the program that was in force the last couple of years.

Okay, I get that, the team needed to be punished.  But what about the players?  Where is the union, that is supposed to protect the players.  To know that some members would purposely hurt other players and do nothing about it is incredible!  Was it a black/white thing, the players that were identified as targets were white.  Probably not, the union is probably just looking as this as players going full out, just doing their job.

That is clearly wrong, or the league would not have fined the team.  The NFL is going the way of the NBA, a bunch of overpaid thugs that hide behind lawyers.
