Bad Deals!

“You can’t make a good deal with a bad person”. Warren Buffet

Today I laugh quite a bit when I read this quote. Turns out he was right. I learned this life lesson this last fall. Investors that had me believe they were such. I spent hours after hours writing offers for them. I “invested” my time at one of the busiest time of the year. Six weeks of my life… gone. Yes. They disappeared.

Earlier this week, I was doing some research for clients of mine when I stumbled across the name of those “investors”. It sure looked to me that I was played by con artists. I will not go on the details, but lesson learned.

I should have trusted my gut about them and do some research before getting excited. Mr. Buffet is a wise guy!

Lydie, you can't go far wrong listening to Mr. Buffet, he makes success a habit. Oh well, I'm sure you have chalked this one up to experience already.

Lydie - I have to agree with Barbara.  The only time you waste your time with a client when you are listing is if you take an overpriced listing.  I do work with buyers, but I cherry pick them - READY, ABLE, TO BUY NOW.

It is always best to go with your gut. I had somebody want me to send them SEVERAL CMAs on properties and then heard nothing.........until they wanted more..........then nothing again................I deleted them from my system..............I had a bad feeling from the beginning and did waste time..............we all learn those lessons.
