The Earth Is Moving – Tucson News Today!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with KGC Properties LLC, Tucson Property Management & Real Estate

Reading through the latest Tucson news – there were many Tucson local news articles, Tucson market news reports, and a variety of other Tucson news – and I couldn’t really decide what to write about so I thought I’d write about a little of everything!

Davis Monthan Air Force Base – they’ve been setting off explosives for the past three hours and it is set to continue for another hour.  So if you feel (or felt) the Earth moving today in Tucson – you were right!  DMAFB periodically does this and it mostly affects the neighborhoods southeast – such as Rita Ranch.

Tucson PotholesTucson streets are rough – and getting rougher.  In fact, one of my neighbors was so tired of the potholes in the street, and after numerous complaints, went to our local home store, bought a bag of cement and filled the pothole himself. During the past three years, our state have used road funds for other things, and finally today, the city council voted to find a way to fix our roads.

Arizona Frogs are going to love this! The federal government announced today that they will designate more than 10,000 acres for the Chiricahua leopard frog in Arizona and New Mexico.  The frog is a threatened species and the government wants to keep them safe.

Tucson real estate median home prices have remained the same!  There has been no change in the median sales price for Tucson area homes from January to February according to the Tucson MLS.

Three big Tucson events this weekend:  Susan Komen Race For the Cure, Kiss Me Dirty and the Tucson Triathlon!

I am glad to hear that the government is doing something about the Leopard frog Gabrielle. Frogs are incredibly sensitive to environmental changes.

I loved the parts about the explosions and the home for the frogs. Such an informative post Gabrielle. You are a great and well versed writer about your Tucson backyard. A city I absolutely love. Thanks.

Looks like a great cross-section of what's going on in Tucson today. I can see why are you having a hard time figuring out what to write about...
