Only a small percentage of public readers will ever respond to a blog. The important thing is that you have given them the opportunity to respond (Web 2.0) even though most choose not to respond. A blog that doesn't allow responses really is "writer to the world" and that is a Web 1.0 model.
As for the paid shills who run around the blogosphere regurgitating corporate talking points, I think everyone would be better off without them. Your clients should be singing your praises, not your paid employees, and many on the internet understand the difference.
Frank, so true. I've found very few clients or potential clients make comments, but they do read the blog and they do contact me and conclude business as a result of it. Thanks for your comment.
Sharon,
I find it interesting that big business is using google alerts to see what's being said about them.
Cindy - I wonder if it's that the consumer is looking for information and the agents are looking for discussion.
Lynda - big and little businesses. They realize all the harm that can be done by negative comments expressed widely. If you don't have a Google Alert set up for yourself, do it today. Thanks for commenting.
