Polo Anyone? A Day Of Fun, Food, And Sunshine At Lakewood Ranch! A Sarasota tradition since 1991, the Sarasota Polo Club at Lakewood Ranch is fun for the entire family, even the family dog, provided he or she is on a leash.
The polo matches can be enjoyed by all on most Sundays from December through April each year. This season runs from December 18th through April 8th and the matches are held at 1pm. The public is welcome to attend and bring along food and beverages to enjoy the wonderful setting and excitement of the polo matches. Or, as the Sarasota Polo Club calls it, the "fastest game on four feet".
There is fun for everyone including pony rides, Clydesdale wagon rides, al fresco dining, half-time entertainment and more. Some weeks are themed and groups of fans will go to elaborate lengths to embrace the theme and compete for prizes. Last Sunday's theme was "African Safari" and coming up is "Underwater Adventure".
Whether competing for prizes or attending just to enjoy the combination of polo, fun times with friends and new aquaintances and the great outdoors, the polo matches at Lakewood Ranch offer a grand time for everyone.
