11 Comments on Water in the Crawl Space
Jamie,
I see that quite often here in my area. Depending upon when the property was constructed, there should have been a positive drain installed to allow the water to exit the property. If there is one, it must be clogged. As a member of IAQA, my concern here is that there may be mold contamination in the ductwork. Have the mother have mold toxicology tests run. This will determine if there is an allergic reaction going on. Better yet, have her call me on my cell. As I do a lot of mold surveys, I may be able to help.

What a sad story. Hopefully they can get the problem diagnosed and corrected quickly for everyone's health and safety. Inspections are so necessary !!!
I just had a client walk away from a deal due to excessive water under a house. The main sewer line had a brak in it and the seller had poured bleach into the drains to try to cover up the problem. Inspector found it pronto, and that was the end of that deal.
Michael, thanks for the infomation & offering to help. I have recommended all the things to the client & i will help her get these things done.
Linda, people will do about anything to hide a problem.
Vincent, very true thanks for the comment
Joseph, I agree with you 100% & i can't think of a time that you shouldn't hire a home inspector.
Dallas, thanks for the input & they are having an indoor air specialist coming out to test for mold type & spore count.
Chris, good point i inspected one a few days ago & there is about 6 or 7 thousand dollars worth of repairs that need fixing. Always have an inspection.
Great Post Jamie.
New to AR and just checking out fellow Hoosiers. When I get some business your way I will look you up.
Happy Selling!
