GOD evicted HIS First man, Adam - why? because he did NOT follow the rules of the lease! HE gave man the option and man chose what man wanted to do! Why do we think we can make something work when GOD himself  allows man to suffer the consequences of his own choices? Throughout the Bible, there are examples for us to learn from without us having to E X P E R I E N C E it  first hand ourselves!

God spoke to Adam in Genesis and said to him, (and i'm putting it in "simple" language) "dude, here is a fully furnished pad with meals!  It's our brand new model, constructed just for "you"....eat ALL you want!" Now, listen, this is MY property....you can stay as long as you pay the rent (tend to the garden)!  It is NOT free! Sign here: x__________________________________.

WHOA! before you sign, know that IF you violate the lease agreement by eating of the forbidden tree, you get NO 5 DAY NOTICE --- you get BOOTED! HEY, by the way, this goes for your guests, family members, and "wifey-poo" too! - YOU gotta take responsibility for THEM since YOU are the head! You are the one with authority! You are the one i'm making this agreement with! You'll have all you needs supplied! OK? Ya got that? Kewl! Sign here: x__________________________________ .

Wait a minute...... let's go back further BEFORE the creation of man......... God's TOP angel was kicked out first! He did NOT keep the rules! He rebelled against his landlord, and got cast out! He did not receive a 3, 5, or 10 Day Notice! Now GOD is a Righteous Judge, and knows the hearts of man.....why do we bypass what HE has set up and become our own justification by trying to do it OUR way???  Don't forget  these were both GOD's BEST!

I'm guilty of making the same mistakes that mostly every landlord makes! I've had the tenants from hell! I've gone the route of "trying to help!" What has it gotten me: ANGRY!  The good news is, i've learned, recovered, and realized the errors of my ways. God moves forward and so do i! Evictions are part of Property Management. I have accepted that. You may have all good tenants......in the beginning.  When or if they change - you must change also!  This is a business....keep it that way!  These are the rules: keep them in place!

I have had this Internet bumper sticker for quite some time, I am always amused by it and occasionally add it onto an email. LOL.

Happy New Year

Diane,

Thanks for the post. Good practical advise for the would be landlords out there. Renting is a business and they should not be looking for friends in their tenants.

You made our day with this post. You made me think about how it really is okay to evict a tenant when they are doing nothing more than taking advantage of our Christianity.

It gets very tiring when you are trying to help someone and all they do is make you feel that you have enabled them to stay irresponsible and take your kind heart for a long ride through Hell. :)

I featured this in Spiritual Rain. :)

TLW...ROAR!

P.S. I got the apple. I still wrestle with whether or not Eve was actually the one who took the first bite. LOL. :) I do intend to ask God about that when I get there. :)

Laurie:  kewl bumper sticker!  Happy NEW to you also!  Thanks for your comment.

William:  For sure!  We MUST put our sentiments aside...what if the "light" company says, "well, i understand you have no money now and we sure don't want you to be in the dark!"  If they kept THAT attitude, THEY WOULD SOON BE IN THE DARK!!

Bryant:  Glad you love the post and i encourage you to "BE BIBLICAL'......KICK 'EM OUT!!!!

TLW:  I'm HAPPY i made your day...and on the FIRST DAY of the NEW!!!  Ya know, somewhere in the Bible it says that the children of "THIS WORLD" are wiser than the children of GOD.  That tells us we MUST LEARN to become as wise as serpents while being as harmless as doves!  Hunnie listen, some of these tenants hone in on the Christians ON PURPOSE to try to exploit!  We, being LORDS OVER THE LAND have been commissioned to be wise stewarts and hafta do our "LORDLY JOBS!"

Now, all the land belongs to GOD anyway...and the "cattle on a thousand hills!"  HE's just allowed us to govern a portion - but HE DOES want a return on HIS investment!  (LORDY LORDY - there i go justa preachin!)

What a nice gesture it was of you to feature this post - thank you!  Now let me tell ya......don't wrestle a day longer: Eve DID bite first.......but the MAN was given the command.  She was tricked, but the man knew plainly that he was disobeying.....that's why GOD came looking for HIM, not her.

Now there!  You got me ALL STIRRED UP!!!!!  Listen, invite me & the other ladies over for a little tea & cake......i'm sitting on some stuff that's about to burst! (smile)

ALERT:  with renters becoming more savvy, we must watch even closer...  i recently had an eviction of a couple who passed all the qualifications and got to sign the lease, had enough security deposit, etc.

One lost a job and between the 2 of them, they used one against the other.....one feigned he was not responsible..(smoke screen)....they both had to go.  (This may sound cruel, however, the mortgage still had to be paid, so a decision HAD to be made).  This is not a business for the faint of heart for sure!

Hmmmmm when this Blog is Googled, the Inman post shows it in the #1 spot!   In the #11 spot this is referenced by Real Estate Voices.

Now, Active Rain shows this article in only the #21 spot and it is NOT DIRECTLY referenced.... this Property Management Group is.  hmmmmm Wonder how that got to be that way??

Any clues?

Never thought of it this way Diane - but you are correct - God evicts if we don't follow rules - why should people be surprised when they are served with notice?

Sincerely,

Grace Safrin

Diane,

This reminds me of one of my favorite story where God keeps throwing out lines to save a guy...a rope, a boat, etc. The guy drowns and says, God why'd you let me drown...God, was like, I kept trying to save you, but you wouldn't try to save yourself.

Fantastic post..no wonder Inman featured it!!!
