I'm sad to report, this is a true scenario happening right now. Closing is scheduled for 11am this morning. I get a call last night from selling agent. The buyers own a bunch of shops around town. (she doesn't go into what type of shops-however, I read the news). They was a sting operation by the Johnson City police department AND the TBI. The buyers shop was shut down and all his assets have been seized, including cars and boats. He wants to put off buying the house for a couple weeks until things have calmed down and he can figure out how to protect his house (which he is paying cash for).
I will tell you, this has everything to do with drugs.
It is a bank foreclosure, I am going to the bank and explaining exactly what is going on. Holding nothing back. I really don't care about selling this house at 11am today or ever.
What would you do? 1) as the buyers agent? 2) As the listing agent? 3) As the seller?
