I am writing today to try and heal...

My dad passed unexpectedly last Thursday, and the hole that he left is enormous.

My dad and I spoke daily, and we worked on projects all the time together.

I can't call him today... And I miss him greatly...

Tomorrow is his funeral and I am just trying to get through the next couple days... Writing his eulogy has brought back a plethora of memories, and brings me back to tears...

His death for me is a reminder to cherish each and every day, for tomorrow is not guaranteed.. He was a gift from God to me and only on loan.

I will see my dad again in His heavenly home.

His death affirms my Faith in God, and that He is great..

I may understand it, or agree, but we are all here in His time.

I will live this life everyday, and try my hardest to make memories with my family and friends..

To anyone reading this, I CHALLENGE YOU TO DO THE SAME...

I will love you forever Dad...

Oh, Ryan! I just saw this and am SO sorry to hear about your loss. The depth of your relationship with him came through and I commend you for the post, if only to heal.

My dad doesn't live here in the States, and I need to do a better job of taking you up on your challenge. Your dad is resting well, and at home. Time will dull the pain, but right now, without the luxury of time on your side, give yourself permission to feel everything you need to to celebrate his life and honor his legacy.
